Number 10, Series of 2013
Beloved Members of the Clergy,
Greetings of Peace and Joy in the Lord!
In response to the desire of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, and the Philippine Bishops headed by Archbishop Jose S. Palma, the President of the CBCP, I wish to enjoin you as well to be one with them in entrusting and consecrating our Diocese, our nation, and the whole world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on October 13, 2013 (a Sunday), the Feast of Our lady of Fatima. In the spirit of episcopal collegiality, I will do the Act of Entrustment and Consecration within the 8:00 o’clock Mass at the St. Ferdinand Cathedral. You may do it within all the Masses on that day in your parishes and chapels so that more faithful could partake of the graces offered to us on this blessed occasion.
Find enclosed the self-explanatory letter of the CBCP President, the ACT OF ENTRUSTMENT AND CONSECRATION translated to Filipino to be recited within all the Masses on October 13, 2013, and some articles which you may find helpful for that event. Moreover, please find, too, yet another important document, the CBCP Circular Letter No. 04—s.2013 which “HIGHLY RECOMMENDS the recitation of the PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL composed by Pope Leo the XIII at every Mass celebrated in all churches in the Philippines.” Again, in solidarity with the Church in the Philippines, I hereby instruct that the said prayer be recited before all the Masses being celebrated within the Diocese starting October 13, 2013—the same day allotted for the Act of Entrustment and Consecration.
May St. Michael the Archangel all the more protect and defend us from our seen and unseen enemies! May the Immaculate Heart of Mary prove once more as our safe refuge from all the evil of our time and may we all personally experience her powerful maternal intercession!
Given this 2nd of October at the Sentro Pastoral ng Diocesis, Isabang, Lucena City.
